I have been a teacher and Headteacher in West Sussex schools for thirty years. I join The Haven as an experienced teacher of children with multiple needs and have developed trauma-informed approaches to learning, have an extensive knowledge of SEND and a passion for using the outdoors to engage children in learning. Working with The Haven is a dream come true for me to be able to offer a supportive learning experience and alternative provision for children not attending or struggling with school-based learning. With the help of the outdoors and the animals at The Haven, I aim to support children, on a one-to-one basis to regain a love of learning if it has been lost, to enjoy the outdoors, develop resilience, social skills, emotional regulation and to gain confidence to help them towards a more permanent setting in education. Working closely with schools and families, I can help support children to gain the essential confidence to thrive.
I also ride horses and bikes, love all animals and prefer to be outdoors and muddy.
